Development of aerodynamic components for the automotive industry
The automotive industry has historically been characterized by the urge to relentlessly elevate performance in every area of the car. Aerodynamics is no exception, all the more so in the era of the transition to electric drive.

So-called aero-cooling is a multidisciplinary topic encompassing aesthetics, fluid dynamics, construction technologies, and engine cooling performance.
Thus, we are talking about the development of all those components that improve a car's ability to penetrate the air, a marriage of aesthetics and functionality, where both features must contribute to making the vehicle's performance more competitive.
In order to cope with the continuous evolution of technologies and the market, the design of the parts of greatest interest for aerodynamic flows goes through several iterative cycles of virtual simulation and optimization in a CAD environment, all verified live using new rapid prototyping technologies, which include composites and 3D Printing.
The resulting prototypes allow physical verification of the changes made during the virtual design phases. Direct feedback of these changes is obtained particularly during wind tunnel sessions, where the hypotheses developed by the designers will be confirmed or disproved.
In addition to functional characteristics, technological feasibility should also be taken into account, so the engineering and subsequent industrialization phases should take a pragmatic approach, taking into account the technologies that will be adopted during the production phase and the in-line assembly process.
