The definition of bumper style must be accompanied by a careful analysis of technical requirements.
In step with the progressive technological evolution of the auto industry, even a traditional component such as the bumper has gradually been enriched with important innovative technical content, such that specific expertise is required to execute a suitable design to meet the multiple aesthetic, functional and safety requirements.
Defining the style of the bumpers, which will make a decisive imprint on the character of the car, must be accompanied by a careful analysis of the technical requirements, all the more so because some of these (such as the value of contactable radii) are relevant to obtaining vehicle type approval.
At the same time, it is important that during iterations of style refinement, technological feasibility is continuously checked against the materials envisioned: polycarbonate or polypropylene for ordinary cars, RIM or the more prestigious carbon for supercars. Always with an eye toward those aesthetic areas that will be painted or embossed, for which thicknesses, which are increasingly reduced due to the need to keep weight down, will have to be carefully managed.
Another important issue concerns the proper installation of devices such as cameras, sensors and radars, which are now ubiquitous and not only on high-end cars.
