Design of OneOff cars
The ever-increasing development of the luxury sector and recent regulations aimed at reducing emissions have led to a sharp increase in demand for handcrafted, off-the-shelf, few-off and one-off cars.
The design of this type of car requires in-depth and highly specific knowledge.

The criteria by which these vehicles are made are often diametrically opposed to those used for mass-produced cars.
Tooling costs should be minimized, while assembly time is of marginal importance. Extensive use is made of carbon and composite materials, while expensive injection molds, used for mass production cars, are mostly banned.
The higher selling price compared to a standard production car is often justified by very driven stylistic and design choices, combined with particularly fine finishes; for this reason complex technical solutions must be designed and implemented that would normally be considered unfeasible.
The budget for the design phase is small, and there is almost never a true prototype phase. Testing and fine-tuning are only feasible virtually, and an additional complication can arise from the fact that sometimes the basis for design are so-called donor cars (basically cars created from special assembly kits) of which accurate and detailed 3D CAD files are not possessed.
The low accuracy of the source data and the wider tolerances require that each component must be designed with the possibility of adjustment on all three dimensions, through the use of appropriate shims.

Why turn to MGE?
The complications associated with the design of this type of vehicle, coupled with the significant impact of any design errors, necessarily require the use of particularly experienced designers with highly specific knowledge.
