to keep volumes and overall weight as low as possible, even taking into account that the addition of a nonstructural component makes it necessary to redesign the entire structure without upsetting the car's style line.
Another key issue lies in the evaluation of how the vehicle's aerodynamics varies when the roof is stowed in its housing, hence the need to develop mechanisms that can minimize the negative aspects induced by possible turbulence while driving.
